Offering Extra Special Service
The REEA Foundation was established in 1935 and is a non-profit organisation caring for adults living with epilepsy and mild mental disorders who cannot be accommodated in a normal family environment.
The Foundation is an independent body, run by an appointed board, not affiliated to any religious or secular organisation, and which adapts swiftly to changing needs. Aiming to become a leading example of a self-sustainable residential facility in South Africa, the REEA Foundation strives to enhance the quality of life of the disabled persons entrusted to our care by fostering a culture of excellence, commitment and professionalism within our organisation. We provide continuous spiritual, moral, medical and residential support, as well as protective employment and advancement opportunities for those who are able.
The Second-hand Bookshop is one of the ways in which the foundation and its hostel residents are supported .
We started the shop in 2000 and since day one knew that by offering the best in all categories, we could make a big difference to our customers.
At Reea Charity Bookshop we bring a high quality Bookstore to the Johannesburg area. Our passion for excellence drove us from the beginning and continues to drive us today. To find out more, take a look at our website, visit our store, email us, or pick up the phone and give us a call! We look forward to meeting you.
The bookshop is run by a band of volunteers headed up by Judy and Lesley, with the help of hostel residents Bruce and Etienne.
