STORE BACKGROUND

Offering Extra Special Service

The REEA Foundation was established in 1935 and is a non-profit organisation caring for adults living with epilepsy and mild mental disorders who cannot be accommodated in a normal family environment.

The Foundation is an independent body, run by an appointed board, not affiliated to any religious or secular organisation, and which adapts swiftly to changing needs. Aiming to become a leading example of a self-sustainable residential facility in South Africa, the REEA Foundation strives to enhance the quality of life of the disabled persons entrusted to our care by fostering a culture of excellence, commitment and professionalism within our organisation. We provide continuous spiritual, moral, medical and residential support, as well as protective employment and advancement opportunities for those who are able.

The Second-hand Bookshop is one of the ways in which the foundation and its hostel residents are supported .

The shop was started by some Hostel residents about 30 years ago and since day one we knew that by offering the best in all categories, we could make a big difference to our customers.

For our regular customers we have a Recent Arrivals Section so they can quickly select a new read.

Some amazing books are donated that are highly collectable and valuable.

They are priced at a third of the lowest price dealers are asking online.
