STORE BACKGROUND

Offering Extra Special Service

The REEA Foundation was established in 1935 and is a non-profit organisation caring for adults living with epilepsy and mild mental disorders who cannot be accommodated in a normal family environment.

The Foundation is an independent body, not affiliated to any religious or secular organisation, and which adapts swiftly to changing needs. Aiming to become a leading example of a self-sustainable residential facility in South Africa, the REEA Foundation strives to enhance the quality of life of the disabled persons entrusted to our care by fostering a culture of excellence, commitment and professionalism within our organisation. We provide continuous spiritual, moral, medical and residential support, as well as protective employment and advancement opportunities for those who are able.

The foundation and its hostel residents are supported by the second hand bookshop.

We started the shop in 2000 and since day one knew that by offering the best in all categories, we can make a big difference to our customers.

At Reea Charity Bookshop we bring a high quality Bookstore to the Johannesburg area. Our passion for excellence drove us from the beginning and continues to drive us today. To find out more, take a look at our website, visit our store, email us, or pick up the phone and give us a call! We look forward to meeting you.

The bookshop is run by volunteers headed up by Judy and Lesley, with the help of hostel residents Bruce and Etienne.

We sell donated books at exceedingly reasonable prices. We have an extensive non fiction room with books categorised as much as possible making it easy to zone in on special interests. All our fiction is alphabetised making it simple to find your favourite authors. There is a Children's section, Foreign language, African, Short story, Poetry, Pays and SciFi/Fantasy sections.

We get amazing books donated that are highly collectable and valuable. They are priced at a third of the lowest price dealers are asking online. So a really good chance to acquire beautiful books. See a selection of our offerings below.

Donations are our bread and butter, and we accept them in this way:... you can arrange for a large donation to be collected or simply come in and drop off.
